PURPOSE: A method and device for encoding/decoding using a tree structure are provided to encode information about an image by using a tree structure. CONSTITUTION: A tree encoder(110) groups a predetermined areas with video information into a plurality of groups. The tree encoder encodes a difference value between a node value by a layer and the node value of the upper layer or a value determined by preset reference and a node value per a layer. A supplementary information encoder(120) encodes additional information. The additional information includes information about the minimize value or the maximize value among node values of a lower layer.
