<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To successfully deploy a second airbag, folded together with a first airbag, between an instrument panel and the knees of an occupant. <P>SOLUTION: In an airbag device 10 for a front passenger seat, a main bag 26 for restraining the upper body U of the occupant P, a sub bag 28 for restraining the knees K, and an inner tube 35 for feeding these with gas are folded together. The gas feed from an inflator 22 first causes deployment of the inner tube 35, allowing the gas fed from a second feeding portion 40 of the inner tube 35 to the sub bag 28, simultaneously the gas is fed from a first feeding portion 38 to the main bag 26. Since the second feeding portion 40 of the inner tube 35 is deployed in a posture where a gas feeding port 40A is oriented toward the instrument panel 16, the gas from the inflator 22 is jetted toward the instrument panel 16, in the sub bag 28. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
