PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that extends a period for holding important information stored in a built-in memory. SOLUTION: An imaging device is provided with an internal memory and a controller. The internal memory includes a device information area configured to hold device information about the imaging device and a demo data area configured to hold demo data. In updating the device information, the controller changes the area to hold the device information. The controller changes the area to hold the device information within the device information area or within an area including the demo data area, in accordance with the size of areas remaining within the device information area as an area for holding the device information.
