PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a front fork, in particular the front fork as a hydraulic shock absorber attenuating road surface vibrations input to a front wheel while suspending the front wheel of a motorcycle. SOLUTION: The front fork includes a fork body comprising a vehicle body side tube 1 and a wheel side tube 2 inserted slidably in the vehicle body side tube 1, a damper 3 contained in the fork body and generating predetermined attenuation force, and an attenuation force adjustment means for adjusting the attenuation force, wherein an actuator 4 composing the attenuation force adjustment means is arranged opposite to the fork body and is fixed to the fork body with a housing 5.
