PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately and simply control the strength of a moving body such as a vehicle in an apparatus and a method for controlling inertia of the moving body. SOLUTION: An inertia control device (1) of a moving body includes a first detection means (SF) which is provided on a forward part located in front of a moving body (100) with the advancing direction being the reference to detect the first transverse acceleration of the forward part generated in the transverse direction with the advancing direction as the reference, a second detection means (SR) which is provided on a rear part located behind the moving body with the advancing direction being the reference, and transversely swayed in the transverse direction together with the forward part to detect the second transverse acceleration of the rear part generated in the transverse direction, force imparting means (10R, 21R, 10L, 21L or the like) for imparting the forces to the rear part, and a control means (8 or the like) for controlling the force imparting means to impart the predetermined force to reduce the phase difference of the forces between the forward part and the rear part to the rear part according to the difference between the detected first transverse acceleration and the detected second transverse acceleration.
