IMPLANTABLE NEUROSTIMULATION SYSTEM

An implantable electronic device includes a geodesic shaped dome 100 housing 60 and means for attaching the dome 110 to a target neurologic structure. The dome 110 includes a radio frequency receiver 20, an amplifier 30, and a stimulating electrode 40. A radio frequency based neuro stimulatory system further includes a transmitting coil 300 positioned outside a patient's body 200 for transmitting pulses 114 to the receiver and activating the stimulating electrode 40 within the implantable electronic device. The neuro stimulatory system can be used for relief of visceral and somatic pain as well as for controlling appetite in patients.
