CONTROL UNIT OF MOTOR DRIVE UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit of a motor drive unit ideal for control of an AC motor increasing an operating-point range.

SOLUTION: The control unit of the motor drive unit includes: a current control unit; a voltage control unit; a current control period decision unit for deciding a current control period Pi based on target torque TM of the AC motor; a voltage control period decision unit for deciding a voltage control period Pv based on a rotational speed ω of the AC motor; and a control period setting unit for setting a current control period Pi and a voltage control period Pv, based on decision by the current control period decision unit and the voltage control period decision unit. The current control period decision unit decides a value lengthening continuously or stepwise as the target torque TM becomes smaller as the current control period Pi according to the target torque TM. The voltage control period decision unit decides a value lengthening continuously or stepwise as the rotational speed ω becomes lower as the voltage control period Pv according to the rotational speed ω.
