PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print e-mail timely by utilizing the convenience of a portable terminal.

SOLUTION: In this printing system in which a second device (3) that stores a plurality of pieces of data including a document recorded by a first device (2) for communicating with a portable terminal (1) capable of receiving e-mail and a printer (4) for performing printing are connected through a communication line, the printer (4) includes: a selecting means for selecting data to be printed from a plurality of data stored in the second device (3); a receiving means for receiving from the second device (3) the data selected by the selecting means in accordance with an instruction to transmit the data selected by the selecting means from the second device (3); and a control means for controlling data printing, that is, printing of data received by the receiving means on the basis of setting.
