PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a versatile, easily operable and inexpensive article inspection device compared to conventional ones which allows to reduce positional limitation of imaging means and to set a higher degree of freedom while making use of existing facility of inspection devices as much as possible. SOLUTION: The article inspection device 1 includes a delivery means 2 conveying an article, an upstream image means 3a imaging the article 11 being conveyed by the delivery means from an upstream side of conveying direction, a downstream image means 3b imaging the article being conveyed by the delivery means from a downstream side of conveying direction, and a control means 6 controlling the upstream image means and the downstream image means. The control means 6 can independently control an imaging timing of the upstream image means and an imaging timing of the downstream image means, can set a combination of two or more different imaging timings depending on a size or species of a conveyed article, and has a first setting of simultaneously imaging the upstream image means and the downstream image means and a second setting of imaging the upstream image means and the downstream image means with different imaging timings.
