PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor for a permanent magnet embedded motor, which reduce torque ripples by a slit, without giving a skew. SOLUTION: This rotor 100 for the permanent magnet embedded motor includes: a rotor core 101; a plurality of permanent magnet insertion holes 102, which are created in the rotor core 101; cavities 104 at the ends of the permanent magnets; a plurality of permanent magnets 103, which are inserted into the permanent magnet insertion holes 102; and slits, which are created at the cores outside the permanent magnet insertion holes 102. The slits are created severally roughly symmetrical about the center line of each magnetic pole, and they are constituted so that at least one point of intersection of the extensions of the center lines of the slits exists, on the center lines of each magnetic pole, and at least one magnetic pole, where the interval between the point of intersection of the extensions of the center lines of the slits and the permanent magnet is different from those of other magnetic poles, exists among a plurality of magnetic poles that are constituted of a plurality of permanent magnets.
