PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging apparatus which implements a smooth change of an electronic zoom magnification when changing the electronic zoom magnification. SOLUTION: In the solid-state imaging apparatus, reset scanning is performed for each frame to select a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements disposed in a pixel part two-dimensionally for the unit of a row and to reset accumulated electric signals, readout scanning is performed for each frame to select the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements in the pixel part for the unit of a row and to read out accumulated electric signals as pixel signals. In this solid-state imaging apparatus, it is determined whether readout scanning of a frame N-1 gets ahead of reset scanning of a just subsequent frame N and if it is determined that the readout scanning of the frame N-1 gets ahead of reset scanning of the frame N, reset scanning of the frame N is controlled so as not to overlap the readout scanning of the frame N-1 and the reset scanning of the frame N. When changing an electronic zoom magnification, the electronic zoom magnification is smoothly changed so as to obtain a uniform image at all the time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
