PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plait braiding tool capable of simply producing a plait braiding ornament obtained by winding a fancy yarn around a string-like core material. SOLUTION: This plait braiding tool is provided by holding a winding rod 2 capable of holding the string-like core material Q along its longitudinal direction as being laid on a base stand 3 as rotatable and capable of detaching and attaching, and also arranging a rotary operation member 4 for rotary-operating the winding rod 2 at the end of the winding rod 2. In the constitutions, by operating the rotary operation member 4, the winding rod 2 can be rotated on the base stand 3, and by the rotation of the winding rod 2, the fancy yarn R can be easily wound around the string like core material Q held on the winding rod 2. Then, by removing the winding rod 2 from the base stand 3, the wound fancy yarn R together with the string like core material Q is pulled out from the end part of the winding rod 2 easily.
