PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a printer capable of quickly providing printed paper to a user while preventing the user from pulling the paper before cutting the paper. SOLUTION: When printing of the paper r is finished, discharge rollers 15 and 16 are rotated from a discharge opening 11 before completing cutting by a cutter 13, thereby discharging the paper r through the discharge opening 11 (D to E). When a paper sensor 17 detects the rear end of the paper r, the paper r is sandwiched between the discharge rollers 16, the paper discharged from the discharge opening 11 is fixed, and they wait until the user obtains the paper r (F).
