<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film having low optical anisotropy (Re, Rth) and being substantially optically isotropic and having a narrow wavelength dispersion in the optical anisotropy (Re, Rth) and showing low optical anisotropy (Re, Rth) even when stretched or shrunk. <P>SOLUTION: Re(λ) and Rth(λ) of the optical film satisfy following expression: 0≤Re<SB>(590)</SB>≤10 and ¾Rth<SB>(590)</SB>¾≤25 [wherein, Re(λ) represents a front retardation value (unit: nm) at a wavelength of λ nm and Rth(λ) represents a retardation value (unit: nm) in film thickness direction (nm) at a wavelength of λ nm]. An optical compensation film has an optically anisotropic layer on at least one surface of the optical film. The optically anisotropic layer is obtained by applying a liquefied solid polymer to form a polymer film, stretching the laminate of the support and the polymer film, peeling off the polymer film from support after stretching to transfer it on at least one surface of the optical film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
