PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical multistory parking garage equipped with an electric vehicle charging device, which is low in cost and is applicated to various mechanical multistory parking garages including a comb-tooth type mechanical multistory parking garage, and to provide a charging method. SOLUTION: The mechanical multistory parking garage equipped with the electric vehicle charging device includes the charging device 6 for an electric vehicle 10; a charging cable 7 having, at its end, a charging connector 8 to be connected to the charging port of the electric vehicle 10; and a charging cable moving mechanism 9 delivering the charging cable 7 from a parking room 2 to an entering/leaving opening 20 and winding the charging cable 7. The charging cable 7 is connected to the electric vehicle 10 at the entering/leaving opening 20, and charging is started after the electric vehicle 10 is stored in the parking room 2 while the charging cable 7 is connected to the electric vehicle 10.
