INCORPORATION OF OIL COMPONENT INTO PHASE INVERSION EMULSION PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a resin emulsion suitable for use in forming a toner particle containing an oil component incorporated into a latex core of the toner particle. SOLUTION: The method includes: bringing at least one polyester resin into contact with an organic solvent and a phase inversion agent in order to form a resin mixture; adding at least one oil component to the resin mixture, heating the resin mixture to a temperature from about 25°C to about 120°C; neutralizing the resin mixture with a neutralizing agent; and introducing deionized water into the resin mixture in order to form the resin emulsion.
