PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content transmitter, a content transmission method, and a content transmission system, capable of adaptively outputting contents requiring copy limitation and contents not requiring the copy limitation to a reception side device, improving convenience for a user and being suitable for practical use. SOLUTION: A transmission side device (11) is made to detect whether or not the reception side device (12) is in a power supply state. When the reception side device (12) is in the power supply state, the transmission side device (11) is made perform authentication processing with the reception side device (12). When authentication fails, the contents not requiring the copy limitation are transmitted from the transmission side device (11) to the reception side device (12) without encrypting them.
