PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect proper material contributing to cause analysis according to contents of failure when the failure occurs in a computer. SOLUTION: When detecting that the failure occurs in the computer, a failure information extraction part 132 extracts a failure pattern including an error number, a message ID, an object, and an event from a system log 141 and an operation information log 142 in reference to an extraction condition table 145. A material ID determination part 133 obtains a material ID 902 corresponding to the failure pattern and a command 903 to be executed to collect it in reference to a related information table 144 by the extracted failure pattern. A material collection part 131 executes the command 903 to obtain the material useful to cope with the failure specified by the failure pattern. A definition file 146 including the material ID and the command corresponding to the failure pattern is transmitted to a management system 200, and the additional material collection is executed in a user system 100 when there is the material to be additionally collected.
