PURPOSE: A solar battery and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a reflection preventing film with different refractive indexes, thereby saving manufacturing time and costs. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor substrate(100) includes a metal impurity and an impurity which has a first conductive type. An emitter unit(120) has a second conductive type opposite to the first conductive type. A p-n junction is made between the emitter unit and the semiconductor substrate. A reflection preventing unit(130) includes a first reflection preventing film with a first refractive index and a second reflection preventing film with a second refractive index. A frontal electrode(141) is electrically connected to the emitter unit. A rear electrode(151) is electrically connected to the substrate.
