A cleaner roller comprises a tubular body having a magnet therein so that it adheres by magnetic force to a drafting roller. As shown the roller comprises a magnet 3 which magnetizes polepieces 4, and 16, the latter through the intermediary of tubular portions 13. There is a non-magnetic tubular portion 12. The roller is covered by a sheet 7 of raised fabric, cloth or rubber. Pole pieces 4 may be omitted, with portions 13 being extended into contact with magnet 3. In another construction (Fig. 1 not shown) pole pieces 16 are replaced by wooden plugs connected by rods to pole-pieces 4, with tubular portions 12,13 being replaced by a non-magnetic tube. The roller may contain a plurality of magnets, each with polepieces 4.</p> |
