Tumble drier with ambient temperature sensor

The laundry dryer has a drum (1) for receiving laundry to be dried, a process air circuit for drying the laundry in the drum and a controller (8). The laundry dryer has a temperature sensor (20) for measuring the ambient temperature. The controller is configured such that the ambient temperature is determined with the temperature sensor. A drying process or a display (16) is controlled according to the ambient temperature. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a laundry dryer.
