The invention comprises camphorsulphonic acid salts of amines of the formula <FORM:1011317/C2/1> where R is H or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms and R1 is hydrogen or a hydroxy group, e.g. the 6-methyl - 2 - heptylammonium, 2 - heptylammonium and /sH6-methyl-6-hydroxy-2-heptyl-ammonium (+) camphor-10-sulphonates; and their preparation by reacting the above amine or a salt thereof with camphor sulphuric acid or a salt thereof. Pharmaceutical preparations having cardiotonic activity comprise the above salts and a solid or liquid diluent, e.g. dragees or drops for oral administration or solutions for parenteral injection. |
