摘要 A torque control apparatus for an electric vehicle 18 comprises a controller 20 coupled to receive a torque demand signal and a sensor signal based on the angular speed of an electric motor 6. The controller is configured to provide a modified torque demand control signal based on the torque demand signal and the sensor signal, in which the sensor signal based on the angular speed of an electric motor comprises a signal indicating the rate of change of angular speed of the motor, and the controller is configured to limit the subtraction signals such that the magnitude of the subtraction signal does not exceed a reference signal level. The torque demand signal is obtained from a driver user interface 22 and the sensor signal from a motor speed sensor 24. An inverter 4 converts a DC supply from the battery 2 to AC power supply for the motor. The controller provides a control signal to the inverter to control the power supply to the inverter.
