[Also in Group XXXII] A helical spring (Fig. 1) with a helical axis is used as a resilient socket connector for an electrical contact pin. Use of the socket connector with the leads 24 of circuit components bent to form contact pins is described (Fig. 5) where a sheet metal tongue 20 is bent back on itself to embrace one side of the socket and proceeds through a printed circuit panel and is soldered to a conductor thereon. |
