PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a driving method of the same are provided to improve image quality by supplying an image signal to a liquid crystal panel through turning on/off of a point light source. CONSTITUTION: In a liquid crystal display device and a driving method of the same, a light source unit(LU) provides light to a liquid crystal panel. The light source unit comprises a plurality of firsts and second point light sources A first timing controller(600) provides first and second video signals to the liquid crystal panel. A second timing controller(701) has a plurality of point light sources and a plurality of point light source which are turned on in different.
