PURPOSE: A method for recycling used lithium ion secondary batteries is provided to collect an electrode active material using a moment cooling method and to also collect Li and Co of high purity through acid treatment. CONSTITUTION: A method for recycling used lithium ion secondary batteries comprises the steps of: (S120) cooling a plastic part of a wasted lithium ion secondary battery with liquid nitrogen, crushing and removing the plastic part, and collecting an electrode active material; (S130,S140) removing a negative electrode active material, conductive material and binder by heating the electrode active material, and collecting LiCoO2 powder as a positive electrode active material; (S150) reacting the collected LiCoO2 powder with an acidic solution of nitric acids or hydrochloric acids to extract Li and Co; and (S160) resynthesizing LiCoO2 using the extracted Li and Co. |
