PURPOSE: A method for providing a service in a mobile communication system and a system for the same are provided to maintain the service even an error occurred in a specific MME(Mobility Management Entity). CONSTITUTION: Each mobile terminal of an active MME(Mobility Management Entity) transfers IMSI(International Mobile Subscriber Identity) information of a terminal to a backup MME(301,303). The backup MME confirms the failure of the active MME(311). The backup MME transmits the paging request message to the terminal(313). The terminal transfers the connection information to the eNB(evolved-NodeB)(315). The eNB transmits the access request message to the active MME(317).
