The introducing of a gas into a liquid (6) for the vitalization of a purification basin or a natural or artificial waters or for aeration of a drinking water pipeline, comprises introducing the gas beneath the liquid surface from an injector (2) with ultrasonic speed into the liquid, producing an ultrasonic field (7) in the liquid by injection of the gas, and carrying out the injection of the gas in sequential pulses. Oxygen or carbon dioxide is used as gas and an aqueous liquid is used as liquid. An independent claim is included for a device for introducing a gas into a liquid.
