A wheelchair suspension includes a frame, a drive assembly, at least one front caster pivot arm, a front caster, a rear caster, and a stabilizing assembly. The drive assembly is pivotally mounted to the frame at a first pivot axis that is below an axis of rotation of a drive axle of the drive assembly. The front caster pivot arm is pivotally mounted to the frame and coupled to the drive assembly. The front caster is coupled to the at least one front caster pivot arm. The rear caster is coupled to the frame. The stabilizing assembly engages to prevent upward pivotal movement of the at least one front caster pivot arm with respect to the frame when the wheelchair exhibits a tipping behavior. Torque applied by the drive assembly urges the front caster upward with respect to a support surface. |
