[Also in Division H1] A transformer/rectifier assembly comprises a transformer in a tank which contains coolant (oil or SF 6 ) and semi-conductor diodes 28, 30, mounted on a member 10 which acts as a heat sink and is fitted in a hole in a side of the tank. As is shown a polyphase transformer 22, 24, 26 has windings connected to the members 10 by conductors 32, 34, 36, and diodes are screwed into blind holes or the outer surface. The inner surface is provided with integral fins or removable cooling members which contact the coolant. Resin 14 insulates the member 10 from the tank. A polyphase bridge circuit and other arrangements are envisaged. The complete assembly includes circuit breakers, meters and a heat exchanger. Specification 906,559 is referred to.</p> |
