Avermectin derivatives having antiparasitic activity represented by the general formula (I) or salts thereof:
wherein -X ---- Y- represents -CH=CH-, -CH 2 -C(=O)-, -CH 2 -CH 2 -, or -CH 2 CH(R 13 )-; the line ---- between R 1 and the carbon atom at the 4''-position represents a double bond and R 1 represents (R 11 )(R 12 )C; or when -X ---- Y- represents -CH 2 -CH 2 -, the line ---- between R 1 and the carbon atom at the 4''-position may represent a single bond and R 1 represents a carboxymethyl group or a cyanomethyl group; and the line ---- between R 2 and the carbon atom at the 5-position represents a single or a double bond.
