A monitoring apparatus is disclosed as including a digital wireless camera (10) with an image capture device (30) for capturing images and converting the images into digital visual data, a data processing module (48) for processing the visual data, and a wireless module (46) for wirelessly transmitting data processed by the data processing unit, and a wireless universal serial bus (USB) receiver (12) connectable with a USB terminal (14) of a computer system (16) for data communication, and the wireless USB receiver can wirelessly receive data transmitted by the wireless module.
