PURPOSE: A light emitting device, manufacturing method thereof, and light emitting device package are provided to efficiently adjust a current flow, thereby increasing light extraction efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting structure(110) includes a first conductive semiconductor layer(112), an activation layer, and a second conductive semiconductor layer(116). An insulator(130) is formed on a cavity from which the light emitting structure is partially eliminated. The insulator includes a first insulator(132) and a second insulator(134). The depth(d) of the cavity is deeper than the thickness(t2) of a first conductive semiconductor layer. A first electrode(144) is formed on the insulator.
