PURPOSE: A compressor is provided to ensure safe driving and reduce noise between a valve plate and a suction lead. CONSTITUTION: A compressor comprises a cylinder block, a housing, and a valve assembly. The cylinder block comprises a plurality of cylinder bores. The housing is coupled to the cylinder block and comprises a suction chamber and a discharge chamber, which are selectively connected to the cylinder bore. The valve assembly comprises a valve plate(71), a suction valve, and a discharge valve. An oil pocket(P) is formed on the valve plate. The oil pocket is extended between a suction hole and a discharge hole(71b) and stores oil. The suction valve comprises a plurality of suction leads(73a) and is selectively connected to the suction chamber and the cylinder bore by the opening/closing of the suction hole.
