PURPOSE: A method and device for providing additional service of car navigation system are provided to determine the optimum driving route by comparing all signal waiting time of each route choice. CONSTITUTION: A method for providing additional service of car navigation system is as follows. The navigation mode indicating a driving path screen showing the driving path of the vehicles on monitor is implemented(502). The traffic signal information of the neighboring road and driving path is received during the implementation of the navigation mode(506). The traffic signal symbols, having the traffic signal color expression on the target position of driving route and neighboring road, is produced with the received traffic signal information in order to be indicated in a driving path screen(518).
