PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing Bambusae Caulis in Liquamen extract for preventing or treating inflammatory or oxidative diseases is provided to remove free radical. CONSTITUTION: An antioxidative composition contains Bambusae Caulis in Liquamen extract as an active ingredient. The extract is an ether fraction of Bambusae Caulis in Liquamen. The composition is a cosmetic composition or functional food composition. A composition for preventing or treating inflammatory and oxidative diseases contains the extract and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier as an active ingredient. The antioxidative composition contains a compound isolated from the extract. The compound is 1,2-dihydroxybenzene and 1,4-dihydroxybenzene.
