PURPOSE: A spindle speed control method of an optical disc device is provided to prevent a screen disconnection effect through the control of an adaptive spindle speed for high-bit rate and high-definition image data. CONSTITUTION: In case the frequency of buffer miss does not exceed a first threshold, an optical disc device keeps first spindle speed(S506,S508). In case the frequency of buffer miss exceeds the first threshold, the optical disc device controls the first spindle speed to second spindle speed(S510). In case the frequency of buffer full exceeds a second threshold, the optical disc device keeps the first spindle speed(S514).
