PURPOSE: An obstacle warning apparatus for an automatic parking assist system is provided to recognize front, rear, left, and right positions by outputting alarm sound from a speaker corresponding to a position of an obstacle. CONSTITUTION: A sensor unit(110) includes a front ultrasonic sensor(111), a lateral ultrasonic sensor(112), and a backward ultrasonic sensor(113). A control unit(120) receives a signal from the sensor unit and determines a parking space and a position of an obstacle. A steering actuator(130) automatically rotates a steering wheel according to a control signal of the control unit. A signal converter(140) converts a chassis communication signal outputted from the control unit to a multimedia communication signal. A speaker control unit(150) receives a multimedia communication signal and controls a speaker of a corresponding position.
