APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ACCESSING OPTICAL DISC

PURPOSE: An optical disc access device and method are provided to efficiently reduce time required for an optical disc access operation. CONSTITUTION: An optical disc access device moves the location of an optical pickup to the initial position of the inner circumference of an optical disc(S11). The device moves the convex lens of a beam expander to the initial position(S12). The device inserts a tray to which the optical disc is settled(S13). The device performs an insert operation of rotating a spindle motor(S14). Using the moved optical pickup, the device accesses the optical disc(S15).
