PURPOSE: A variable compression-ratio device is provided to simplify a construction since oil pressure or an electric motor is not used to rotate an eccentric ring. CONSTITUTION: A variable compression-ratio device comprises an eccentric ring, an operating pin, a variable slider(510) and a guide plate. The inner circumferential surface of the eccentric ring makes tight contact with the outer circumferential surface of a piston pin. The outer circumferential surface of the eccentric ring makes tight contact with the inner circumferential surface of a ring formed on the end of a connecting rod. For the eccentric ring, the center of the inner circumferential surface is off-centered from the center of the outer circumferential surface. The operating pin forms a hollow in the piston pin. The operating pin is arranged in the piston pin to slide in a length direction.
