PURPOSE: An electronic shifting device for a vehicle is provided to safely and conveniently shift gears by prohibiting gear shifting limited by law. CONSTITUTION: An electronic shifting device for a vehicle comprises an operation unit(1), a shift lock unit, a sensor, a P switch, a safety switch, and a controller. The operation unit is installed along two or more linear routes. The shift lock unit varies the state that the operation unit can be moved along the linear routes. The sensor senses the position change of the moved operation unit. The P switch selects a P shift. The safety moves the operation unit and receives the input from a user. The controller outputs a gear shift signal for controlling a transmission by receiving the input of the safety switch and the P switch.
