METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AUSTENITIC STAINLESS STEEL WITH GOOD SURFACE QUALITY

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing austenitic stainless steel with excellent surface quality is provided to reduce linear flaws and defects by properly controlling the cooling and grinding methods of a cast-piece. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing austenitic stainless steel with excellent surface quality is as follows. A cast-piece is manufactured by cutting austenitic stainless steel with chrome 10~30 weight% and nickel 5~15 weight% through a consecutive casting process. Residual scales are detached from a mold slag layer by cooling the cast-piece with 500~600°C and submerging the cooled cast piece in a cooling bath for 5 to 10 minutes.
