The amplifier (Amp1) has input and output transmission lines (Lg, Ld1) actively coupled by amplifier cells (Cl11, Cl12, Cl1i, Cl1n). Each cell is connected to the line (Lg) by an microwave frequency input through one of input series capacitors (Cc11, Cc12, Cc1i, Cc1n) of the respective cell for realizing a respective capacitor voltage divider with a specific ratio from an input microwave frequency signal (Ue) using an input capacitor of an input active element i.e. FET. A microwave frequency signal applied to the input of the cell is the product of the signal and the ratio. An independent claim is also included for a gain stud comprising a gain controllable double distributed structure and a switch.
