A Cellulose acylate film, in which X-ray diffraction intensity satisfies following formulae and a half-value width of the peak at 2&thetas;2 is 3° or less: 0.40≦̸Ic/(Iam+Ic)≦̸0.85; Iam=I1+{(I3−I1)/(2&thetas;3−2&thetas;1)×(2&thetas;2−2&thetas;1)}; and Ic=I2−Iam, wherein when it is assumed that &thetas; is the Bragg angle, 2&thetas;1 and 2&thetas;3 indicate 2&thetas; at which the intensity becomes the minimum in the 2&thetas; range of 4° to 5° and 14° to 16°, respectively, 2&thetas;2 indicates 2&thetas; at which the intensity becomes the maximum in the 2&thetas; range of 5° to 10°, and I1, I2 and I3 indicate a diffractive intensity at 2&thetas;1, 2&thetas;2 and 2&thetas;3, respectively.
