PURPOSE: An apparatus for measuring blood pressure by automatically recognizing a measuring part and a method for measuring the blood pressure using the same are provided to economically measure blood pressure from several parts of a human body using one apparatus. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring blood pressure by automatically recognizing a measuring part is composed of a pressure driving part(10), an exhausting part(20), a pressure sensor(30), and a micro-controller-unit(MCU)(50). The pressure driving part is controlled by the MCU in order to control the pressure of a cuff(1). The MCU verifies the parts of a human body to which the cuff is applied by comparing the pressure changing ratio of parts in the human body and current changing ratio data.
