The arrangement has feeding ropes (11, 12) laterally arranged as a rope feed from a travel path of a fiber web. A feeding unit (14) releases a feeding strip (15) from a cylinder (10). Another feeding unit (16) inserts the feeding strip between the feeding ropes. A support element (17) is arranged on the travel path of the feeding strip before the latter feeding unit for stabilizing motion of the feeding strip. The support element consists of a non-rotating rod (18), which is arranged transverse to the feeding strip. The latter feeding unit consists of vacuum conveyor belts. An independent claim is also included for a method for web feeding in a fiber web machine.
