<p>The drive voltage (panel drive voltage) for driving individual liquid crystal elements of a liquid crystal panel slightly varies due to leak, etc. The voltage variation leads to a change in the brightness of the images to be displayed, which can be recognized as a flicker. Provided are a liquid crystal display apparatus and a control method therefor, wherein the above drawbacks can be eliminated. The liquid crystal display apparatus comprises a liquid crystal panel (13) having a plurality of liquid crystal elements, an arbitrary waveform generator (14) which generates a first signal on the basis of the change in the waveform of the panel drive voltage to drive the liquid crystal elements, and a light source (18) which varies the quantity of light in accordance with the first signal and illuminates the display panel.</p> |
