Deterioration in drivability due to a gear rattle is inhibited. A hybrid vehicle (1) is equipped with: an internal combustion engine (200); a rotating electrical machine (MG2); and a power transmission mechanism (300) which is provided with a plurality of rotating elements each having a rattle in a rotation direction and is configured so as to be capable of transmitting a torque between an drive shaft, which is connected to an axle, and the internal combustion engine and power transmission mechanism. The hybrid vehicle (1) is provided with: a determination means (100) which determines whether or not the input/output torque of the rotating electrical machine to or from the drive shaft will straddle an avoidance region configured as a region causing the power transmission mechanism to generate the gear rattle in the process of converging to be a target torque; and a shortening means (100) by which a period to straddle as a period required for the input/output torque to straddle the avoidance region when the input/output torque is determined to straddle the avoidance region is shortened to be shorter than a reference period as the period required for the input/output torque to straddle a torque region equivalent to the avoidance region when the input/output torque does not straddle the avoidance region.
