<p>Provided is a portable electronic device which has a pair of housings coupled together in such a manner as to be relatively movable between the totally closed state and totally opened state, and in which electronic parts embedded in one of the housings are connected via a flexible lead to electronic parts embedded in the other one of the housings, the portable electronic device being configured to permit, without a large space provided inside the main body of the device, flexion and displacement of the flexible lead that accompany the relative movement of the two housings. The portable electronic device comprises a coupling arm (31) which couples a first housing (1) and second housing (2) together in such a manner that these housings are relatively movable between the totally closed state and totally opened state, wherein: a flexible lead (7) has a strip-shaped lead section (7b) extending through the inside of the coupling arm (31); and a lead accommodating section (38), which permits flexion and displacement of the lead section (7b) that accompany opening and closing of the two housings, is formed in the coupling arm (31).</p> |
