METHOD FOR STATOR SHORTED TURN FAULT DETECTION USING OPPOSED PAIR-PHASE VOLTAGE/CURRENT OF ELECTRIC MOTOR

PURPOSE: A surface permanent individual winding multi-phase synchronous motor(SPIMSM) and a method for detecting a fault due to an interlayer short are provided to minimize loss of an original signal by using the sum of voltage/current of an opposite phase of an electric motor. CONSTITUTION: A phase difference of counter electromotive force waveforms of opposite phases is produced in a SPIMSM structure having three or more multiple phases. The sum of voltage/current of the opposite phases is measured. The measured data are applied to a back propagation neural network algorithm having two inputs and one output. The normal states of the opposite phases are learned to diagnose the faults of the SPIMSM.
